ABOUT COURSE
Botany is a branch of biology that involves the scientific study of plant life. It is one of the most preferred choices to study among the biology students. It is an accomplished branch and is parent lineage to all other branches including biotechnology, microbiology, biochemistry etc. Also included within its scope are plant classification and the study of plant diseases, as well as the interactions of plants with people and the environment.
Our mission is to discover, maintain, and transmit knowledge concerning basic plant biology and provide leadership in the biological sciences.
The course syllabus is designed in such a way that it imparts the theoretical knowledge along with practical training. Being a postgraduate botany course, the objective of this course is to produce intellectual and proficient botanists. It is done by this course through enhancing the abilities and skills of students for application of botany theories and expertise in the live problems faced by industry.
This degree course is important and career originating in nature and after the completion of the course; it opens many job scopes for the candidates. Positions for people with botany backgrounds are usually in educational institutions, government and environmental organizations, and in the biotechnology industry including companies seeking new drugs and medicines, and useful genes for improvement of crop plants, Taxonomist, Horticulturist, Geneticist, Molecular biologist, Environmental consultant, nature conservation officer, Ecologist, Conservationists etc. both at national and international level.
