About Ragi

Ragi is common name of plant Finger Millet.  Its scientific name is  eleusine coracana. Ragi is major small millets. Ragi is underutilized staple food crop. It is largely utilized by tribal peple of India, South Africa and Shrilanka. Although Ragi is distributed and cultivated worldwide. Ragi is famous for it's glutenfree content in modern society. Ragi caught attention of researcher because of it's anthelmintic ,anticancerous  and antioxidant properties. Ragi is considered as strong candidate for deep seated problem of food security. Ragi is cultivated by small and marginal farmer. Thus it is lifeline of hundreds of farmers of India and South Africa.
